The Shelter Deck

nigel treating walls

Work to treat emerging rust was carried out on the external walls of the Shelter Deck. Rust treatment is a standard procedure on board any ship as the saltwater causes and speeds up corrosion. Britannia’s maintenance team work to combat this by priming the walls, then applying three layers of undercoat and two coats of gloss paint. The walls are now crisp white and the thorough painting ensures they are protected from the elements.
