The Upper Deck

Handrails Work is continually being done on the handrails around Britannia as they are such a distinguishing feature on board. Made from beautiful teak, the rails are the same wood as the decks. The handrails on the Upper Deck are currently being restored. This process involves removing the handrails and working on them in our workshops, situated on the quayside. The old varnish is removed; the wood is sanded and eight coats of varnish are applied for protection.
