A Royal Experience - Celebrating 65 years of Britannia

To celebrate the 65th Anniversary of the launch of The Royal Yacht Britannia by Her Majesty The Queen in 1953, we are delighted to be hosting a celebratory evening with after-dinner speaker, Commodore Anthony J.C. Morrow, CVO RN, Britannia’s last captain.

Taking place on Saturday 28th July 2018, you will be welcomed aboard along the red carpet by Britannia's piper to experience an unforgettable evening marking 65 years since Britannia was launched at the John Brown & Co shipyard on the River Clyde.

The evening starts with cocktails and canapés in the State Drawing Room whilst our Pianist will entertain guests on Britannia's original grand piano, once played by Sir Noël Coward, Princess Margaret and Princess Diana. The reception will be followed by a captivating private tour of Britannia’s State Apartments, as seen in the popular Netflix series ‘The Crown’, giving an insight into how the Royal Family and crew lived and worked on board.

A delicious four-course menu will be served in the State Dining Room by Britannia's butlers. Featuring the very best Scottish ingredients, the dinner will be prepared by our Chef Mark Alston and his team in the original Royal Galleys. A light jazz trio will perform 50s classics throughout dinner.

Your special after-dinner speaker will be Commodore Morrow, Britannia's last captain, and uniquely the only Officer to serve aboard three times: 1965-66, 1976-78 and 1995-98. He will captivate guests with stories of his time aboard the Royal Yacht, including the Handover of Hong Kong in 1997.

Tickets are priced at £195 per person (inc VAT). To book individual places or a table of 10 click here.
