Wheelchair users

All five decks are fully accessible for wheelchair users with lifts and ramps throughout. Britannia has been classified as Category 1, the highest level for wheelchair access without assistance, by VisitScotland (the Scottish Tourist Board). In order to enjoy the whole tour, wheelchairs should be no wider than 670mm.

People with reduced mobility

There are lifts linking each of Britannia's decks making it very easy to move around the Yacht, and there are several places to stop and rest on the tour route. Any seats that are not roped off are there for you to sit on, relax and enjoy your audio tour.

Wheelchair IconThere is free parking in Ocean Terminal with dedicated parking for wheelchair users in the blue car park on level C, the nearest to our Visitor Centre. When parked, enter Ocean Terminal’s car park lift and select Level E for our Visitor Centre.

If you need to borrow a wheelchair, please ask our Visitor Centre staff. Wheelchairs are provided free of charge.

Visitors' book

“I visited the Britannia last year. It was so good to see her again. My late husband served aboard her in 1972. She's a great ship and still in tip top condition. I hope those who take great care of her are still having their "tot".”
