Coronation Celebrations

This week, celebrations are taking place to mark 60 years since Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in Westminster Abbey.

Earlier this week, as Britannia is also celebrating her 60th year, we presented every visitor on 2 June, the actual date of the Coronation in 1953, with a commemorative Coronation rosette as a special keepsake. Visitors were also able to toast The Queen with a complimentary tot of rum, served in the Chief Petty Officers' Mess.

Visit this link to The Official British Monarchy website to find out about the other celebrations taking place. Britannia is proud to be an official supplier of the Official Commemorative Coronation China range, with limited edition pieces in stock. These stunning Royal gifts are hand-finished with 22 carat gold, using traditional methods unchanged for 250 years. We are also stocking the adorable commemorative Merrythought Limited Edition Bear. See our online shop for more gifts, or visit us at Ocean Terminal for the full range.

In a radio broadcast at her Coronation, The Queen said: 'Throughout all my life and with all my heart I shall strive to be worthy of your trust'. She later described the day as being 'the proudest of my life'. The video below captures some moments from that special day:
