Britannia is berthed in Leith, only 2 miles from Edinburgh city centre. Our Visitor Centre is in Ocean Terminal on the second floor.

By bus
Majestic Tour buses depart regularly from Waverley Bridge in the centre of Edinburgh. This tour will take you via the Royal Botanic Gardens before arriving at Ocean Terminal for your tour of Britannia. The Majestic Tour is operated by Edinburgh Bus Tours. Show your Majestic Bus ticket to get a 10% discount on admission to Britannia.

Lothian Buses run frequent service buses to Ocean Terminal from the city centre (the most direct services are 11,22 or 35).

Please note that to travel on Lothian Buses in Edinburgh you will need exact change for the fare. One single adult fare costs £1.20.
By car
Follow road signs to Leith/North Edinburgh and brown tourist signs for Britannia. There is free parking at Ocean Terminal and blue car park level E is the closest to Britannia. You have to come into Ocean Terminal to get to our Visitor Centre, which is where your tour of Britannia will start. For a map to help you plan your journey, visit maps.google.co.uk.

Port of Leith.From M8 (J1): A720 City Bypass North → A8 City Centre → A902 Leith → A901 Port of Leith.
From A720 City Bypass: Follow A720 Leith → Old Craighall Junction → A1 Edinburgh → A199 Leith.

Please be aware that Edinburgh is currently experiencing some traffic congestion due to ongoing road works to install trams. You may wish to allow slightly longer for your journey.

By bike
Leave the car at home, take your bike and cycle along the traffic-free Water of Leith to Britannia. You can park your bike at one of the many racks outside Ocean Terminal and take in some scenery on the way. For more information on specific routes, see www.youredinburgh.info or www.spokes.org.uk

From Cruise Ships in Leith
You will be able to see Britannia from your cruise ship. To start your tour you will have to go into Ocean Terminal shopping centre, the entrance is on the far side from your cruise ship berth. It is approximately a 5 minute walk.
From Cruise Ships at South Queensferry
If you have a shuttle bus to Edinburgh city centre, take this and then catch the no. 22 bus to Ocean Terminal. Or take a train into Edinburgh from Dalmeny Railway station which is at the top of a long flight of steps behind The Hawes Inn, opposite the Lifeboat and very close to where your tender will land. Or take a taxi, which will cost around £25.00 to £35.00 and take 30 minutes to 1 hour (depending on traffic).
