“On return from a visit to N.Ireland I found myself in Edinburgh and realised that 'Britannia' was here. What an absolute delight to find that I could visit and also that my wife was able to visit in her wheelchair. A truly memorable experience but saddened by the sight of Her Majesty's obvious dismay in saying goodbye to an old and faithful friend, as seen in the photograph at the Decommissioning. I must congratulate the team who look after 'Britannia' as the love and affection you have for her shines in everything there is to see and do when aboard. The audio commentary was so useful. Go forward in strength and continue to serve as Her Majesty still does. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN”
