This is the same monkey as in the officers ward room on board Britannia. This monkey was not meant to be moved but the officers moved it daily to a new place – to show their sense of humour.
The monkey was designed by the Dane Kay Bojesen. Kay Bojesen graduated as a silversmith in 1910. In 1930 he explored his passion for wood, creating animals that matched his belief that a product should be round, soft and feel good in your hand.
