Weekly Snaps
17 January 2025
Photography has always played an important role on Britannia. While she was in service, there was always a 'Yottie' appointed, nicknamed 'Snaps', to take photographs of life aboard the Royal Yacht.
In keeping with this tradition, we now have our own Photographer in Residence, Ruth McQuiggan, who has been capturing our very own Weekly 'Snaps' - a collection of snapshots of life around the ship today.

Lesley, Visitor Assistant, greeting visitors on the Verandah Deck and sharing Britannia’s unique history.

Housekeeper, Lynne, polishing the glass windows in the Royal Deck Tearoom so that visitors can enjoy spotless views over the waterfront.

Facilities Officer, Mark, cleaning the Verandah Deck, making sure the ship is ready to welcome visitors.

With a choice of soup and sandwich, served with our twice cooked smoked paprika potato wedges, the Tearoom's Britannia Platter is the perfect way to round off your tour.

Featuring a wide selection of loose-leaf teas, the Tearoom's drinks menu has something to suit all tastes.

A freshly crafted cappuccino with a delightful chocolate Royal Yacht stencil on top is ready to be served to our Tearoom guests.

When Britannia was on Royal duty, the 240 crew members often needed to change uniform up to six times per day. Working in the onboard Laundry was an around the clock and busy job.

With the Scottish winter sun setting early, visitors can delight in viewing the ship lit up before they finish their tour.

Young travellers will love these ‘My Scottish Holiday’ activity sets and cuddly Highland cow toy to accompany them on their Scottish adventures.
