Join in the summer of fun: National Teddy Bear Picnic Day

We're celebrating National Teddy Bear Picnic Day and the start of the summer holidays with some fun activities all the family can enjoy. On 10 July, we're asking everyone (children and adults!) to bring their favourite teddy bear to Britannia. Everyone who does will get a tasty treat…and you might be in for a surprise on the tour route too.

We will be hiding lots of cuddly Britannia teddies throughout the ship for you to spot. The whole family can join in the hunt. So keep a look out and, at the end of your tour, tell our guides how many teddy bears you saw to win a sweetie!

While you're on board, don't forget to take your teddy to the Royal Deck Tea Room for tea and cake. Stop by the NAAFI to try some home-made fudge and end your tour in the Gift Shop where you can get your own souvenir bear. We have lots to choose from, from the cute Peeking Bear to our beautiful collectors' teddy, 'Clyde'.

We're also running a Colouring Competition for a chance to win a Captain Bear, family ticket, plus tea and scones in our Royal Deck Tea Room. You can download your copy here, or pick one up from Ocean Terminal's customer services. Just hand it in to our Gift Shop by 11 July. The entries will be displayed in Ocean Terminal and a winner chosen.

As you can tell, we're a little bit excited ourselves about this fun day on board. Our Poet in Residence, Raymond, even penned this for the event:

10th July is Teddy Bears' Picnic Day,
Celebrate with us, just make your way to Britannia,
You're sure to get a prize
Just bring your teddy along - no matter the size.

Lots of things to do, like 'finding the teddy,'
Then visit the NAAFI and Tea Room whenever you're ready.
Go to the Gift Shop, thought I'd just mention,
Our great range of 'teddies' - a collector's collection.
(a poem by Raymond, our Poet in Residence!)

We look forward to welcoming you and your favourite teddy aboard!
