Visitors' book

“When I was 11 years old in 1959 the Britannia sailed to Canada through the St.Lawrence Seaway with the Royal family aboard for the official opening. It was moored just below the locks that go from Lake Huron to Lake Superior. Like hundreds of other Boy Scouts I was on the parade route and after rode my bicycle to the shore and gazed out at the yacht.I was entranced to see such a lovely vessel and at the time thought "...never in my life would I be able or allowed to board such a ship.." I had hear that even the mayor of our city was not allowed to board. Imagine my great joy when decades later while visiting Edinburgh the highlight of my trip was to step aboard and take the phenomenal tour of the royal yacht. I heartily recommend it and thank the trust for the joy of that wonderful day.”
