Discover Coweslip
Steeped in Royal History
Coweslip, the celebrated Flying Fifteen racing yacht was designed by Uffa Fox in 1947 and gifted to the then Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip. The 20-foot, two-person Coweslip was sailed frequently by Prince Philip. Together, Prince Philip and Uffa Fox formed a formidable racing partnership, famously winning the Britannia Cup in 1952 and cementing Coweslip's place in British sailing history.
Her Place Within The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust
Today, Coweslip is proudly cared for by The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust, where she holds a cherished position within the historic fleet. Coweslip has joined Bluebottle and Bloodhound in a longstanding ambition by The Royal Yacht Britannia Trust to reunite the three historic vessels.

As Cowes celebrates 200 years of extraordinary sailing with their annual Cowes Week, Coweslip will feature in our special pop-up exhibition at the Commodores House, Sailing Through Royal History, 31 July - 29 August 2026.
