Do I need to pre-book?
It is not necessary to book tickets in advance however, if you choose to pre-book it will normally enable quicker access to Britannia, particularly over the Easter, Summer and October school holidays. You can book your tickets online here.
How much do tickets cost?

How do I book a group?
Please contact our Group Sales Team. Pre-booking is necessary to receive a group discount and also to ensure availability on the date of your choice. The discount applies to groups of 15 or more. Find out more.
Do I need to book a time slot?
We do not have set tour time slots, as the audio tour is self-led. You can start your audio guided tour of Britannia anytime within our admission hours.
Can I book a table in the Tea Room?
It is not possible to pre-book a table. Tables in the Tea Room are on a first come, first served basis.
Is Britannia accessible?
Can I leave luggage somewhere while I take the tour?
We have an area where we are able to hold small items of luggage for the duration of your visit to Britannia. Please note that any items are left at your own risk.
Do you offer military discount?
We offer an armed forces rate of £8.75 with valid ID. This is available from our ticket desk on the second floor of Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre.
Is there parking?
Visitors to Britannia should use the Ocean Terminal car parks. Parking is free and level E of the blue car park will bring you out on the same level as the Britannia's Visitor Centre. There are disabled spaces and dedicated parent and child parking bays available on this level.
Is there motorhome parking available?
There is no allocated motorhome parking, car parking is free and there are two multi-story car parks, with a surface car park by the Debenhams end (blue car park), however the spaces have a restricted width. There are however, frequent bus services to Ocean Terminal.
When does the Yacht close and how long do I have after last admission?

We close 2 hours after the last admission.
*Last admission on 24 December is 2:30pm and 31 December is 3:00pm. The Royal Yacht Britannia is closed on 25 December and 1 January.
How long is a typical tour of Britannia?
We recommend you allow 2 hours for your visit. In August you may wish to allow 2-3 hours as this is our busiest month. Also, please allow longer if you wish to visit our stunning Royal Deck Tea Room.
Can I bring my dog on board?
We welcome guide dogs, hearing dogs and other recognised assistance dogs. It is not possible to bring other dogs into Ocean Terminal or on board Britannia.
Can I take photographs on board?
You are welcome to take photographs on board. There are some great photo opportunities on the outer decks.
Does Britannia have hotel accommodation?
There is no hotel accommodation on The Royal Yacht Britannia. Our sister ship, Fingal Hotel, offers 23 luxurious cabins, inspired by Fingal’s rich maritime heritage and named after Stevenson Lighthouses. Fingal Hotel is now permanently berthed just moments away from Britannia in the historic Port of Leith. Stay aboard and treat yourself to an unforgettable experience in The Lighthouse Bar, serving Afternoon Tea, Evening Supper and spectacular cocktails, open to overnight guests and non-residents.
