Top six places to take a photo on board Britannia

With five decks full of fascinating spaces to discover and explore, The Royal Yacht Britannia’s Visitor Assistants have compiled a list of their six favourite places to take a photo for capturing your day on board. Find out where you can find these picture-perfect locations around the Yacht.

1. Britannia’s Bell and binnacle

Located outside the Sun Lounge on the Verandah Deck, one of our most popular places to snap a picture is beside Britannia's Bell and a decorative replica binnacle. The Bell is also the only place on board where Britannia's name is displayed.

2. Where Princess Diana once greeted her two sons on board

The iconic 1991 moment when Princess Diana lovingly welcomed Prince William and Prince Harry on board during a visit to Toronto, Canada. Find this spot on the Port side deck at the top of the Royal Brow, just outside the entrance to the State Apartments.

3. The Grand Staircase

Located in the heart of the State Apartments, the Grand Staircase provides an elegant photo opportunity, allowing visitors to follow in the footsteps of Royalty and capture special moments on board.

4. The Petty Officers’ and Royal Marine Sergeants’ Mess

Take a seat and relax where the Petty Officers and Royal Marine Sergeants would spend their free time. A friendly and welcoming space, an invitation here was highly sought after by all on board. For a fun photo, take a position behind the bar and pretend to serve the crew their drinks.

5. The Royal Brow

Once used by Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Family and their guests to board Britannia, this special gangway provides a unique photo. Climb to the top of the stairs and recreate the experience of arriving on board the Royal Yacht.

6. Clyde the giant corgi

Strike a pose with Clyde, Britannia's giant corgi. Sitting obediently in the Shop, Clyde is one of Britannia's most popular photo subjects. Why not grab a selfie or family photo with this larger-than-life pup?
