Scottish International Storytelling Festival
See performances, workshops and discussion panels, featuring both traditional Scottish and international storytelling, at The 2019 Scottish International Storytelling Festival. Running from 18 to 31 October, events include writing spooky stories with the kids with author and storyteller Janis Mackay.


Oktoberfest
Haven’t booked to go abroad? Not to worry. Head to Munich via West Princes Street Gardens for a night without the kids to experience Edinburgh’s take on Oktoberfest. This event, which takes place from October 30 to November 3, is about more than just beer. Expect to see traditional lederhosen while listening to Bavarian music, with the smell of pretzels, bratwurst and schnitzel making a taste irresistible.
