Scotland is known for its historic charm, dramatic landscapes, as well as its unpredictable weather. Whether you're walking in the Highlands, exploring castles, or strolling through charming cities like Edinburgh and Glasgow, knowing what to wear can make your visit much more comfortable and enjoyable. Here are our top tips for what to wear when visiting Scotland through the seasons.
Top Tips
• Layers: Wear layers you can easily remove or add, as the weather can change quickly
• Waterproofs: A year-round essential—waterproof jackets and shoes are a must to stay dry.
• Comfortable shoes: Scotland is perfect for exploring on foot. Depending on whether you stay in the city or head out to the countryside, expect a variety of terrain, including cobblestones, muddy paths, and uneven ground.
• Wind protection: It can get windy, especially along the coast or on hilltops. Bring a windbreaker and a hat to stay warm and protected.
Spring
Temperatures in Spring typically range from 5°C to 15°C, with cool and fresh days and a mixture of rain showers and lovely sunshine. What should you wear in Spring to explore Scotland? 
• Long-sleeved tops and light sweaters
• Waterproof jacket or a lighter option like a trench coat or denim jacket
• Comfortable walking shoes or boots

Summer
