Edinburgh Castle’s Esplanade will come alive this July with a run of spectacular open-air concerts. With the iconic castle as a backdrop, the concert series will feature performances from musical acts such as Kaiser Chiefs, Marti Pellow, and Il Divo.
Portobello Beach
Escape the city and head to the charming seaside town of Portobello. The perfect location to spend a warm, sunny July day. Enjoy strolling the Victorian era promenade, lined with lovely cafes and restaurants. Take a dip in the sea to cool off, then find a spot on the two-mile-wide beach to relax and watch the world go by.
Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival
From 11 to 20 July 2025, the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival will fill the city with the soulful sounds of jazz, blues, and funk, bringing together an exciting mix of world-class musicians and homegrown talent in venues and streets across the capital.
Dovecot Studios
Launching on 18 July 2025, Dovecot Studios’ exhibition 'IKEA: Magical Patterns' celebrates six decades of iconic textile design, direct from the IKEA Museum in Sweden. The exhibition will showcase over 100 eye-catching and fun fabrics as well as an interactive pop-up studio experience.
The Royal Yacht Britannia
Come aboard Queen Elizabeth II’s former floating palace and explore five decks of Royal history. Wander through the State Apartments and the Crew’s Quarters, marvel at the gleaming Engine Room and soak up the sunshine and sea breeze on the Verandah Deck. Relax in the Royal Deck Tearoom with a cup of tea and some sweet and savoury treats while enjoying views over the Port of Leith.
