Weekly Snaps
8 August 2025
Photography has always played an important role on Britannia. While she was in service, there was always a 'Yottie' appointed, nicknamed 'Snaps', to take photographs of life aboard the Royal Yacht.
In keeping with this tradition, we now have our own Photographer in Residence, Ruth McQuiggan, who has been capturing our very own Weekly 'Snaps' - a collection of snapshots of life around the ship today.

Visitors to the Royal Deck Tearoom delighting in a delicious selection of soups, sandwiches, cakes and scones from the menu.

A mature cheddar, spring onion mayonnaise and Arran chutney sandwich, prepared on a gluten-free roll, is a tasty lunchtime option. Our Tearoom team is always happy to recommend menu options to suit your dietary needs.

The Sun Lounge, a gorgeous teak-lined room, was one of Queen Elizabeth II's favourite spaces aboard Britannia. Behind the illustrated wall panels of former royal yachts lies a cleverly hidden drinks cabinet.

Britannia’s colourful flags flying in the breeze, set against the backdrop of the bustling Port of Leith.

Infused with a maritime scent, the refreshing Sea Kelp collection from the Scottish Fine Soaps Company is available to purchase from our Shop.

Our Shop offers a delightful range of Scottish-themed gifts, including the adorable Highland cow plush and the 'My Scottish Nature Adventure Book', perfect keepsakes for little ones to remember their Scottish adventure.
