Weekly Snaps
7 August 2026
Photography has always played an important role on Britannia. While she was in service, there was always a 'Yottie' appointed, nicknamed 'Snaps', to take photographs of life aboard the Royal Yacht.
In keeping with this tradition, we now have our own Photographer in Residence, Ruth McQuiggan, who has been capturing our very own Weekly 'Snaps' - a collection of snapshots of life around the ship today.

A Summer lunchtime favourite in the Royal Deck Tearoom, our Caesar salad with John Ross smoked salmon.
Named after Queen Victoria, the Tearoom's decadent Victoria sponge cake is generously layered with berry jam and white chocolate cream.
The Welmar baby grand piano in the Drawing Room is firmly secured to the deck, ensuring it remains in place even when the seas become choppy.
A statue of Britannia’s longest serving Royal Yachtsman, Ellis ‘Norrie’ Norrell MVO RVM, watches over the Quayside.
Featuring a beautiful illustration of Britannia, this magnet is a charming souvenir from your visit on board.
Take a little seaside fun home with you! Our shop is full of cuddly Jellycat friends, including seagulls, fish, lifebuoys and more!
Once a Northern Lighthouse Board tender, Fingal is now a luxury floating hotel, restaurant, bar, and exclusive events venue, berthed in the historic Port of Leith.
