Weekly Snaps
27 January 2023
Photography has always played an important role on Britannia. While she was in service, there was always a 'Yottie' appointed, nicknamed 'Snaps', to take photographs of life on board the Royal Yacht.
In keeping with this tradition, we now have our own Photographer in Residence, who has been capturing our very own Weekly 'Snaps' - a collection of snapshots of life around the ship today.

There is plenty for visitors to see on Britannia’s quayside, including the Royal Barge and the Rolls Royce, as well as all five decks onboard.
Renata, Housekeeper, polishing the oar in the Visitor Centre, which was used to stir the Christmas pudding mixture in the Galley by members of the Royal Family and Yotties.
Visitors enjoy capturing a photo memento at the Royal Brow, the entrance reserved exclusively for The Royal Family and visiting dignitaries during the Yacht’s many years of Royal service.
Housekeeper, Anhelina, carrying out a deep clean of the Sick Bay, next to Britannia’s own Operating Theatre.
Demi Chef de Partie, Amelia, cutting out buckwheat sables for the apple cheesecake, one temptingly delicious treat from the Afternoon Tea menu at Fingal.
An Ayrshire honey roasted ham, tomato and mustard sandwich platter prepared in the original Galleys for visitors to the Tea Room.
A 12-year-old Highland single malt whisky sourced for The Royal Yacht Britannia, a perfect accompaniment to a Burns Supper. This treat can be found in our Gift Shop in Ocean Terminal.
Chocolates from the Scottish Collection with a unique Scottish twist including whisky, iron brew and millionaire’s shortbread, these are available to buy in the Britannia Gift Shop.
